It was our freshman year in college. I lived in the dormitory on campus and Zachary lived in the school’s townhomes that were a block away. One field trip, on the campus bus, to the Grove City Outlets was all it took for us to meet. On the way back to campus, it started to downpour. Zachary, sitting in the back of the bus, used a laser pointer to get my attention by pointing it all over the bus. I was in disbelief that this guy was flirting with me, but I turned and smiled, and his face lit up every time I looked at him. The bus dropped us off in front of the dorms, my friend Katelynn and I hurried to the doors to prevent getting soaked. It was to my surprise when Katelynn said to me “that guy from the bus is running to us right now”. Sure enough, I turn around and see Zachary, drenched from the rain, walking into my dorm, and coming towards me. I was shocked, as I’ve never had a man run to me through the rain before. He started the conversation with “I don’t normally do this, but I’m Zachary” It was clear how nervous each of us were and after a brief but adorable conversation we exchanged numbers, and Zachary walked back to his townhouse in the rain. We were friends at first but as time went on, it was clear this would turn into something more.
On the evening of January 27th, 2016, in Townhouse A, Zachary asked me to be his girlfriend and we have been together ever since. We had our first date at the Perkins in Titusville. Seven years later, we have had more memories, dates, adventures, pictures, trips, laughs, kisses, and hoops to jump through to get us to where we are today.
Going to Disney World on my 25th birthday has always been on my bucket list. Zachary and I planned a trip for my birthday and little did I know, Zachary had other plans. Right in front of Cinderella's castle, Zachary got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was beyond shocked and surprised and it became one of the best days of my life!
