How We Met

11/13/2019

Our romance started the way all good romances start- on Tinder. William was just entering the dating scene again after a rough relationship, and Bailey was searching for an ego boost following a brutal breakup of her own. In a case of serendipitous timing, literally while she was hovering over the app to delete it, a notification of a super-like popped up. Curiosity got the best of her and she swiped until she got to who had super-liked her- and there was William. Its extremely important to William that everyone knows Bailey messaged him first. And after a few days of back and forth flirting and natural conversations on Tinder. William asked Bailey if she had an iPhone and would be up for facetiming sometime. Bailey of course saw right through this, and knew it was a ploy to get her number so she enthusiastically agreed. William responded by changing the subject. After a bit more back and forth, Bailey did what all girls pretending to be subtle do... and complained that she wasn't texting back very quickly because the app is just so darn buggy. William of course swooped in and asked for her number immediately. And thus began a long tradition of Bailey making William think things are his idea.

First Date

11/26/2019

Our first date came right after Bailey had just learned she's allergic to most foods so William was posed with quite a challenge- what to do on a first date that isn't getting a meal. He chose for us to meet up at TCU and go to the Ft. Worth Botanical Gardens together. William says, "from the moment Bailey got out of her car and started walking over to me, I knew she was the one." We went to the gardens and walked around getting to know each other, and somewhere along the way stopped at a bench and proceeded to talk for three hours straight. The nervous guard of being on a first date had faded completely, and by the end we were laughing like old friends. Neither of us wanted the date to be over, and so we kept walking around the gardens, but Bailey has arthritis and at this point was really starting to hurt- so naturally William got us lost in a garden that was nearly entirely stairs and after lots of laughs and reassurance Bailey got us back to the entrance. Bailey excused her self to the restroom and immediately texted Tori and Molly a progress report and William immediately pulled up movie times on his phone to find a reason to keep the date going. William was scrolling for movies when Bailey returned. He stumbled upon a showing for the Polar Express at the Omni Theatre, his all time favorite Christmas movie, and the way his eyes lit up like a little kids just about did Bailey in entirely-so we went. After another two hours we headed to the car to go home. We had parked in a parking garage that was full from all the movie goers and as we waited in line for our turn to exit, Stutter by Granger Smith came on the radio. All the windows were rolled down and the parking garage was packed full of people, but William sang along carefree, being his confident goofy self. William tells everyone who asks that this was the moment he knew he had snagged Bailey. Bailey says "In that moment, I thought, okay he can have a second date."
