Things To Do

South End

South End

South End is where we lived when first moving to Charlotte. Tons of good food, drinks and people. If you're looking for an area to explore, this is a top choice. Bars Nearby: We recommend Charlotte Beer Garden, Wooden Robot (Good Morning Vietnam is our favorite Charlotte beer), Hi-Wire, Monday Night Brewing, Resident Culture, QC Pour House and Sycamore Brewing. Food Nearby: We recommend Yunta, Hawkers, Barcelona Wine Bar, Indaco, Oku, Futo Buta, Resident Culture and Krispy Creme (required). For those traveling with kids/teens under 21, most if not all breweries are kid/teen friendly until late hours.

Uptown

Uptown

The wedding ceremony will be held close to Uptown (Downtown) Charlotte. Near the Kimpton Tryon hotel is a strip of bars, pubs and restaurants called the French Quarters. Great for a pint of Guinness or pretending you know how to play darts. Bars Nearby: We recommend Ink N Ivy, Valhalla, The Cotton Room at Belfast Mill, Coin Bar, and Dandelion. Food Nearby: We recommend Haymaker, Deluxe Fun Dining, Caroline's Oyster Bar, Amelie's French Bakery, Mellow Mushroom (for a late night slice).

NoDa / Plaza Midwood

NoDa / Plaza Midwood

We currently live near the NoDa and Plaza Midwood neighborhoods. Both neighborhoods are unique and guarantee a good time. Bars nearby: We recommend Heist Brewery, Workman's Friend, Billy Jack's Shack, Salud Cerveceria, Moo & Brew, Legion Brewing, Burial Beer Co. Food nearby: We recommend Midwood Smokehouse, Calle Sol, Haberdish, The Goodyear House, Que Onda, Giddy Goat Coffee, Ever Andalo.

Extended Trip?

Extended Trip?

Looking to extend you trip? Asheville, NC is one of our favorite places and is only a 2 hour drive from Charlotte. We love hiking the Blue Ridge Mountain Trail during the day and coming down to the city in the evenings for good food and a cold beer from a local brewery. Biscuit Head is unbelievable. Wilmington, NC is good for a close costal weekend on the beach - about 3 hours away from Charlotte. The downtown is cute with unique bars and restaurants. Great change of scenery. Charleston, SC is about 3 hours from Charlotte. Regrettably, we haven't visited yet so if you do, you'll have to give us recommendations.
