The closest airports are DCA and Dulles both with metro access and cab/ubers. If coming from Fort Myers airport, there is a direct flight (normally, depends on the season so this could change) on American to DCA and there is a direct flight on United that flies to Dulles. Dulles is further away and a cab ride would be pricier FYI.
