Kids are absolutely welcome, but our wedding is planned as an adult celebration, and no child-specific accommodations will be provided. If you’re able, we’d love for parents to treat this as a night off. If that’s not an option, we understand and are happy to celebrate with the whole family!
Please plan on arriving by 4pm. The ceremony will begin at 4:30pm sharp.
There will be a mass text system providing gate codes and directions as well.
The Grouse Mountain Lodge & Hampton by Hilton Hotel provide complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport and Downtown Whitefish. If you plan on staying close to town, there are bicycle rentals and plenty of lovely trails nearby. There is also a bus from downtown Whitefish to the base of the Whitefish Mountain resort. For the more adventurous, we recommend renting a vehicle; while Uber is an option, it is limited and expensive.
Quality restaurants in Whitefish are plentiful. We still haven't tried them all, but some of our favorites are: The Buffalo Cafe (Brunch diner - Get there early or be ready for long wait times!), Indah Sushi, The Last Chair (American), Loula's Cafe for their legendary Huckleberry Pie, Sweet Peaks Ice Cream, and Montana Coffee Traders for coffee and snacks. The Whitefish Lake Lodge restaurant has balcony seating with a fabulous view of Whitefish Lake and excellent cocktails and appetizers; we love their brussels sprouts.
May weather in Whitefish is mild - you can expect highs in the high 60s and evening lows in the low 40s, with about a 20% chance of rain on any given day, so bring layers. Keep in mind you are far to the north, so the sun comes up early and doesn't set until 9:00pm!
At 3,000 feet above sea level, most people should adjust without too much issue. You can expect more shortness of breath than usual for 2-3 days. To ease the transition, we recommend drinking plenty of water the day before traveling and once you have arrived. An aspirin the first day can help speed the process and reduce headache risk as well. Also, at higher altitudes, your body becomes much more sensitive to alcohol. You have been warned.
Yes - Whitefish has good coverage throughout the town, with many public and private wi-fi hotspots at the various hotels and cafes. However, cell service can be spotty on the property, and mobile internet is unreliable.
Glacier National Park is about a 40 minute drive from Whitefish. If you plan to visit, rent a car and purchase your vehicle passes. If you are road-tripping and plan to visit multiple national parks, the $80 annual park pass may save you money.
