Bailey & Luke’s story begins in 2011 at the University of Findlay in a freshman dorm room. This is not where they met, but where Bailey met Sarah (an important contributor to their story as you’ll see). They became close throughout their time at UF. Luke meanwhile…well let’s just say him and Sarah did not see eye to eye in those early years. Even though UF had a student population of less than 3000, Luke & Bailey would go three years on campus together without ever crossing paths… Some years later in 2016, Luke and Sarah had become friends through their time at OSU, realizing that they had more in common than not; while Bailey and Sarah had maintained their friendship established in the freshman dorms. That fall, they were both invited to a party hosted by Sarah in Columbus. Although they were introduced at the party they engaged in little conversation throughout the night and left not ever thinking they had just met their future partner… Another two and a half years go by and they are again in the same place because of Sarah. This time being invited to her birthday party in March 2019. Except, they once again decided to ignore each other through the entire dinner (really – like come on guys, we are waiting!) After another six months pass by (and almost three years since they first were introduced), Bailey and Luke FINALLY were able to get to know one another at (you guessed it) another event hosted by Sarah. This time her bachelorette party. Here they danced and talked the night away with it all coming together on a rooftop bar while Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts” had everyone rocking. In this crazy romantic comedy type story this is where the theater crowd would be cheering because of ALL THE FEELS!

Although they would wait another week before starting on the path towards a relationship, it didn’t take Bailey and Luke long to realize that they had found the person they were meant to be with. Especially since they had the opportunity to spend quite a lot of time with one another during the early stages of the pandemic when you couldn’t do anything else. After less than a year of dating, Luke proposed on the soccer field where Bailey had played and now coached, with her team and family all around. Bailey and Luke have reflected on their journey and how in a perfect world maybe they would have met at UF and would not have had to spend all those years drifting in search of their person. But both agree that they likely would not have ended up together if they would have met back then. That everything happens for a reason and that God did not deny their relationship, He simply waited until they were the best versions of themselves. Bailey and Luke look forward to making their romantic comedy story official in July and afterwards, as they do in all the movies, live happily ever after.
