It would be best to rent a car from the airport. Summer is peak time for ferries, so best to avoid those routes. Go south from SEATAC on i-5 and follow the Highway 16 route north up the peninsula to Highway 101, then head west through Sequim and Port Angeles. From Port Angeles you can take two different routes (not a big time difference): Highway 101, or Highway 112. In total the drive is about 5 hours (including some short stops). See our Things to Do map for places to stop and shop, sightsee or use the bathroom along the way.
We have reserved blocks of rooms from Friday, July 31st through the morning of August 3rd (3 nights), but you're more than welcome to extend your stay on either end :)
The weather is typically 60-70s during August. There is always a chance of wind and rain. Bring layers. We get wind off the Strait of Juan de Fuca even on the sunniest days. For the ceremony/reception, there is no dress code but beach-casual is the general theme. **The ceremony and dance floor will be on the beach! Keep this in mind when considering footwear.
We live in a very remote area! We plotted on our Things to Do map on this website where you can stock up on food and drink before you arrive out at the edge. We will also be providing some meals during your time here - more on that TBA.
We have created an environment to promote social distancing here on the property and encourage you to practice really good hand hygiene and social distancing weeks before you arrive. We will have hand sanitizer wherever communal food is and around the property. Please use it. You’ll have to bring/buy a mask because WA requires it in public places, this for ours and others protection. If you are staying at the inn, please bring your own pillows and follow BBI protocols. These will be posted in all rooms. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us to talk.
Short answer is no. We are not able to control anyone but ourselves. Longer answer: We are encouraging everyone to wear masks around food and when we are in a big group (example: rehearsal dinner and ceremony) where we are indoors and when being 6 feet apart is difficult. Many family members are traveling to get here and cannot know if they have been exposed. We, as a couple, want to protect ourselves and our loved ones and want to promote practices that have been proven to reduce exposure to COVID 19.
Please do not come if you are nervous or unsure about being in a group of people. We cannot ensure your safety. We understand your fears and support your decision in not attending our wedding. We will see you and spend time when it is safer to do so.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday night meals will be provided. Bailey’s sweet grandmother is also providing a breakfast of eggs and bacon, toast and a yogurt cup at Bullman Beach Inn from around 8 to 9 am. Restaurants in the area include By the Bay and Breakwater which are 30 minutes east of the venue/our house. You will either have to bring your own or head down to those restaurants for lunch.
