We met on a dating app called Bumble. I was always very against dating apps, but a friend of mine convinced me to give it a try. Meanwhile, Jacob was planning a vacation with his family in San Antonio. The week they chose to come to San Antonio, is the same week I was convinced to try out this dating app. I had my match radius set to only bring up people that are in my city. So, when we matched I assumed he lived here, until he broke the news to me that he was only visiting from Colorado, and would be leaving in two days. We kept in touch, talking everyday, and a month and a half later I decided to fly to Colorado to meet him in person. After we officially met, we decided a long distance relationship was worth it. A year and a half later he proposed, and two months after that he moved to San Antonio. If they hadn't decided to take their vacation in San Antonio, and on that particular week, then Jacob and I may have never met.
Jacob and I went to Florida with his parents for my birthday. One day, we drove down to Daytona Beach and spent the day walking the shoreline, exploring the pier and eating some delicious seafood. It was sunset when we got back to our resort, so I stood with him on our balcony looking at the beautiful colors. I told him that I had so much fun and wanted to vacation with him forever. (Little did I know, what I said created the perfect segue for him to pop the question.) He said, "Actually, there's something I've been wanting to ask you all day", and when I turned to look at him, he was holding the little velvet box, then asked me to marry him. And here I thought the highlight of my Florida trip would be going to Harry Potter World and getting Butterbeer.
