Mount Princeton Hot Springs
We have visited Mount Princeton Hot Springs for Holden's birthday the past two years in a row, and we adore it! Between the one of a kind creekside pools and incredible mountain views, if you have the time to visit the hot springs you will not be disappointed! It is $45 for a weekend soak and they are open 9am-9pm. :)
Buffalo Peaks Lodge
Still considering places to stay? We have stayed at this adorable bed and breakfast for Holden's birthday the past couple years, and it is our favorite! So cozy and homey, the rooms are fun and interesting and the view is incredible. It is also an easy 15 minutes from Mount Princeton Hot Springs and 30 minutes from our venue.
Jan's Restaurant
Jan's Restaurant is a local diner in downtown Buena Vista that serves classic comfort food from breakfast to burgers. I can't say we have had many things on the menu besides their chicken fried steak- simply because it is that good.
Wilderness Aware Rafting
Towards the beginning of our relationship, my first time in Buena Vista was when Kara (Holden's mama) took us camping and whitewater rafting. Holy smokes, what a time! The Arkansas river is not for the faint of heart, and while rafting trips will likely NOT be available the first weekend of September, if you EVER have a chance to go (whether it is in this area or not), do! What an incredible experience to check off the bucket list- thank you Kara!
K's Dairy Delite
After our rafting adventure, we grabbed some ice cream from K's Dairy Delite. Family owned and operated, K's is a Colorado staple and an adorable place to grab some yummy ice cream.
Columbine Park
Located directly behind K's is a beautiful little park with a path along the creek for walking and enjoying the what is sure to be amazing weather and views.
