Bailey and Evan were both born and raised in Northwest Indiana — proud ~Region Rats~ and fellow Purdue University alumni. Despite attending the same university, their paths never crossed during college. Fate stepped in after graduation when they briefly met on St. Patrick’s Day in downtown Chicago at a mutual friend’s apartment. After several exchanged glances, Evan made the first move by asking Bailey to be his partner in a game (smooth, right?). They went their separate ways later that day, only to reconnect a month later — ironically discovering they lived just thirty minutes apart back home in the Region. This time, Evan officially asked Bailey out. Their first date? Tacos and tequila — the classics. Afterward, Bailey came home and immediately woke up her family to declare that she had just met the love of her life. This was the moment her now-famous phrase, borrowed from Buddy the Elf, was born: "I’m in love! I’m in love! And I don’t care who knows it!" They’ve been together ever since. Since that night, Bailey and Evan have shared a love for cooking, spending time with loved ones, and caring for their very needy (but very cute) dog, Oakley. To bring it all full circle, Evan proposed two years later — back in Chicago, along the Riverwalk with the iconic green river behind them, once again in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.

What is your favorite activity together? We have a new found love for making espressos and enjoying them together, especially on a cold but cozy Saturday morning. With the Indiana Dunes close to home, we also enjoy taking Oakley for walks on the beach... although if you ask Oakley he would say he walks us! Where are you going for your honeymoon? This winter we are visiting Universal Studios in Orlando before heading to Miami to leave on a cruise that will stop at St. Thomas, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, and the British Virgin Islands. What is the most memorable trip you have taken together? In May 2022 we went to San Clemente and Catalina Island in California. We drove down Pacific Coast Highway to check out Malibu before indulging at Fisherman's and watching surfers live in action. Naturally, we chose the safest vehicle to drive through the mountains on Catalina Island... a reconstructed Army Hummer. All jokes aside, we made it to get gelato on the beach. The dorkiest thing about us is... ....video games. Nuff said. We take pride in... ...being Boilermakers even though the football team may or may not have the worst record in school history. At least we have the basketball team!
