Bailey's POV: I was getting a late night coffee at the Glenside Dunkin. I had worked there for like a month and was talking to one of my old coworkers who was taking my order when I saw the other late night employee. Long hair and a beard and I was smitten. This man looked like Hozier and if you know me, you know I LOVE Hozier. So My friend asked if I wanted him to give the Hozier-look-alike my number. Uh, duh. To be honest, I didn't think much of it. I figured, well he has my number, ball is in his court. I don't think I really expected much to come of it. But then, later that night, after Dunkin closed, I got a text. Ben's POV: I was working the graveyard shift at the local Dunkin Donuts and my manager said he knew this girl who was into me, and he gave me her number. I didn't text her till I got off of work. "Hey, this is Ben from Dunkin, Eric gave me your number" ... She texted me back! Apparently she used to work at the same Dunkin, and she thought I looked like her celebrity crush Hozier. I didn't know who the hell Hozier was, but I had heard "Take Me To Church" on the radio. So we set up a dinner date, and I took the Nissan and I picked her up from the apartments next to my old high school. Bailey's POV: The Nissan was so nice, like way nicer than my car. And being picked up on the first date?? Genuinely so romantic for no reason. He took me to H-Mart, which I don't think I had been to at that point. The food was SO good. We talked and walked around and got boba. And it seemed like neither of us really wanted the date to end, so we ended up driving around all night listening to music and talking. He was so sweet and seriously funny. I remember when he brought me home, I really really really wanted him to kiss me. AND HE DIDN'T. Ben's POV: The date was amazing! She's super cool, absolutely gorgeous, and we talked all night about our interests and lives. We drove around for hours talking and swapping songs from our playlists. I could tell that she was as into me as I was her, but I was nervous. After a while I dropped her off, and we said our goodbyes for the night. I didn't know whether or not I should kiss her, and I chickened out. But I knew I would be seeing her again. In the next three weeks before I returned to Stony Brook we were inseparable. Bailey's POV: We really were inseparable. Maybe it was because we were young and it was during covid. Maybe it was "the honeymoon phase." But from the first night we met I knew I never wanted to be apart from him. A little over a year later, we got our first apartment together. It was a horrible horrible place with a plethora of offenses too long to list... But it was our first home. And two weeks after we moved in, we found our boy in the sewer. A lot has changed since then but truthfully, the two of us are still pretty inseparable.
