Drew and Baileigh’s story began in college at the University of South Carolina. The couple had their first date in December of 2021, when Drew was graduating and Baileigh was about to begin her spring semester. However, as we all know, God’s timing is much better than ours. The two reconnected in 2024 over one of the things that brought them together… baseball. Drew sent Baileigh a message over social media thanking her for her former favorite MLB team, the Tampa Bay Rays, contribution to the reigning, defending, back-to-back World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rays had sent Tyler Glasnow to play for LA and Drew saw this as a perfect opportunity to reconnect with Baileigh, as he remembered that Baileigh mentioned the only way she would ever become a Dodger fan would be if Tyler Glasnow played for them. Tyler just wrapped up year 2 of his 5 year contract with LA and the promise has yet to be fulfilled… After a few messages and a week’s worth of planning, the two decided to catch up over dinner at the locally famous Burger Tavern 77 in early April. Amidst wonderful conversation and updating one another on life, the two thought it would be best to wrap up the date. Not due to anything wrong, but the employees had begun putting chairs on top of tables and it had been over 4 hours. A few weeks of dinner dates (that also ended due to the restaurants closing) later, Drew finally asked Baileigh to be his girlfriend in June of 2024. Over the course of a year and a half, Baileigh and Drew shared laughs, smiles, and memories that will live forever and played a huge part of the couple’s journey. Baileigh learned all of Drew’s favorite things such as baseball, golf, and the outdoors. At the same time, Drew learned all of Baileigh’s favorite things such as running (which made him a runner as well), pickleball, and putting Christmas trees up in September. Baileigh and Drew have logged many miles and the couple has completed two half marathons together so far. They have found new hobbies together, such as making and perfecting sourdough bread over the last few months. On October 19, 2025, Drew took Baileigh to the Horseshoe, the center of the campus that brought them together, and proposed to Baileigh surrounded by both of their families.
