We started dating January 2nd, 2016 during our sophomore year of high school. For our first date, we went to Olive Garden for dinner and then to the movies to see Daddy’s Home. On November 9th, 2019, we bought our first house and we’ve been living together ever since. On September 2, 2024, Ryan proposed at Disneyland. We knew immediately that we wanted to get married on January 2 because that’s been our anniversary since 2016 and we didn’t want it to change. We picked a wedding venue and locked in the date for January 2, 2026. Unfortunately the unthinkable happened and Ryan was in a very serious motorcycle accident. His recovery took almost a year and I had to be his 24/7 at home nurse. Because we knew his road to recovery was going to be quite long, we pushed the wedding back an entire year. It was a very difficult time for us but we got through it together. And even though it was hard, we choose to look at the silver lining which is that we got to spend almost an entire year together. A year that we, very easily, could not have had together. We got to see a different kind of strength in each other that we’ve never had to see before. Our relationship never wavered and in a time a great hardship, we got through it together. We have been happily in love since 2016 and we cannot wait to show that to our friends and family on January 2, 2027.
