Wedding Party

Ruth

Maid of Honor

Hi everyone! After meeting Bailee in undergrad, I have known her to be such a committed and loving friend. Our wild road trips and music performances in the car show that this friendship is nothing short of full and amazing memories. I am honored to be in the bridal party and look forward to celebrating Karl and Bailee with loved ones!

From being the first friend I made when I moved to Ann Arbor to now being like a sister, Bailee has brightened up my life every day. I can’t wait to celebrate her and Karl! It has been an honor to see the love they share and I know it’s only beginning.

What do you get if you take a Georgia peach and a Norwegian viking and put them together? An iconic friendship duo. Hi, I’m Sara (the Norwegian viking if that wasn’t clear). I have had Bailee by my side throughout 3 rough years of graduate school at EMU, balancing school and laughter-filled shifts changing poopy diapers at EMU’s Children’s Institute. Now it’s my turn to be by Bailee’s side as she marries the love of her life. I couldn’t be more excited!

We can thank a pair of Hokas for this friendship! I was powering through grad school (not looking for friends 😂) and the sweet, young, first year grad student asked me about my shoes. I am grateful for that interaction and the friendship it created! While she jokes that she is like my little sister, I look up to and admire Bailee for the wisdom, intentionality, and kindness she brings to her relationships and work. It’s an honor to be by Bailee and Karl’s sides as they say “I do” - let’s party!

Michael

Best Man

After a brief pen pal encounter in elementary school, Karl and I met and properly became friends in high school over the course of many long nights spent in front of bonfires at the Gage backyard, trips to Ann Arbor’s many wonderful diners, and too many fun filled days to count passing time in Michael’s parents basement. Despite going on different paths for college, we’ve always stayed close, a highlight being during senior year when, without fail after a full day of class, I’d find Karl waiting on the front porch of the house I rented with many of our friends from U-M, always with a smile on his face. Since 2021 I’ve lived in Brooklyn, which means sadly that I see less of Karl than I’d like to these days, but no trip home is complete without a visit to see him (and now Bailee too!). As I reflect on this major moment in Karl’s life, I’m so proud of the man he is, grateful for the honesty and vulnerability he’s always brought to our friendship, and excited for the many memories ahead.

Karl and I started hanging out more and more as High School went on. He was the super cool hockey player who I learned has a big heart. It was clear that in our rambunctious group of friends, he was the best of us. I always felt grounded and safe with Karl around because he is constantly looking out for those around him. I've always admired how he is able to get along with everyone and maintain so many deep connections. Years later I had the pleasure of being his roommate. Countless nights bouncing ideas and stories off of one another. I miss having him around. Especially now that we're in different cities. For those that don't know me, I'm living in Chicago working as a strength coach and dancing for a small contemporary dance company. Karl was there encouraging me when I was taking large and scary steps in life in a new direction. I can't thank him enough for being there for me. I'm so grateful to be able to celebrate this amazing marriage and support my dearest friend on this glorious day.

Karl and I met at Miami University our freshman year. We lived across the hall from one another and hit it off immediately bonding over hockey and singing Katy Perry. We roomed together sophomore year and went to almost every hockey game together. Karl was in my wedding party and I am excited to be in his!

Karl and I became best friends during high school at a time when I really needed a loyal friend. He was always there for me and we would spend lunch breaks and free times sometimes chatting it up or in comfortable silence together. We formed a great partnership and I feel truly lucky to have one of the nicest men I’ve ever met as a friend for life.
