The Beginning of Us Back when Jon was working for USA Wrestling in Colorado Springs and Bailee was at Catch Des Moines, their paths crossed, thanks to a Des Moines wrestling tournament . Bailee was helping at the event, and Jon, wanted to make sure Bailee got the invite to their social. The event came and went and they had exchanged a few emails, but nothing more. A year later, Jon had moved on from the job, but Bailee was still working at Catch. She grabbed drinks at her favorite Des Moines dive with Jon’s former coworkers… who spent the evening talking him up like he was a Midwest legend. So Bailee sent him a text that would change everything: “You’re missing out on the fun in Des Moines!” From that moment, texts turned into calls and facetimes, which turned into “wait, how is it already midnight?”, and six months later Jon convinced Bailee to hop on a plane to visit Jon in Colorado Springs. The rest is pretty much history—they became inseparable, juggling long-distance visits, nonstop conversations, and a whole lot of airport hugs until Jon finally moved back to the Midwest. The Dating Years Once they were in the same time zone, life got wonderfully full. They spent weekends golfing, traveling with friends, going to concerts and shows, visiting family, catching a few drinks with their favorite people, and cheering on basically every sport imaginable. They worked a couple of marathons together, played slow-pitch softball and sand volleyball in the summers, and even became that couple who goes to the gym together. In 2024, they decided it was time for their next big adventure: building their first home together in Waukee, Iowa. They moved in March 2025—just in time for Jon to take the next step. The Proposal A few short weeks after moving in, Jon popped the question at their favorite local golf course. Bailee thought it was just a normal round; little did she know her best friends were hiding in the trees waiting to capture the moment. After Bailee said yes, they celebrated the only appropriate way—with a shot of Fireball. But Jon wasn’t done. He had gathered their friends and families at Bailee’s parents’ house for a surprise celebration, complete with her favorite Mexican food. They spent the weekend with their friends and family and their hearts were so full. It was the best weekend. Becoming a Family As if life wasn’t exciting enough, they soon welcomed their mini–golden doodle, Cinne—named after Fireball, of course. She quickly became their whole world and the happiest little addition to their new home. Now, with a house they built, a pup they adore, and a life filled with family, friends, sports, and adventures, they’re ready for the next chapter. And this September, we’re taking our favorite adventure yet: saying “I do” and throwing one heck of a party!!
