If you’re planning to go the Airbnb/VRBO route for the long weekend, we recommend staying in or around Downtown Charleston, Mount Pleasant, or one of the nearby beaches (Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palms, or Folly Beach). Downtown puts you closest to the wedding and within walking distance of restaurants, bars, and all the charm Charleston has to offer. Mount Pleasant is a great in-between spot. Just 10–15 minutes from downtown and the beaches. Sullivan’s Island and Isle of Palms are perfect if you're wanting a beachy, laid-back vibe. Expect about a 20–30 minute drive into the city. Folly Beach is another fun, funky beach town with lots of vacation rentals. It's also around 25–30 minutes from downtown. Charleston is super driveable (and Uber/Lyft-friendly), so wherever you land, you’ll be in good shape!

For guests comparing flight options, Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) is about 2 hours away, Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) is also around 2 hours, and Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is about 3 hours by car.
