It all started at a dog park. No literally, we met at a dog park. After several rounds of trivia at a local pizza restaurant, we were officially dating. I like to say that I knew I loved Eric after a day we spent at the Columbia River Gorge. We spent the afternoon swimming, then capped off the evening listening to Sam Smith sing live as the sun set behind the stage. Eric may tell you his memory of saying "I love you" the first time was several months later on New Years Eve listening to Ludacris live at a club in Las Vegas. Two very different environments, but both equally amazing and two of our favorite memories.
Picture this: Thanksgiving weekend in Santa Ana, California. We're spending the weekend with two of our best friends, Evan and Kelsey White. We spend Friday drinking, laughing and eating freeze-dried foods at (insert name of food truck place). Cut to Saturday morning, and the four of us find our way to a pho spot to cure our hangovers. After eating at least two bowls, I decide to take a nap when we arrive home. Little do I know, Eric is calling my parents and asking their permission to propose that evening. Several hours later, as evening nears, we all decide to drive to Thousand Steps Beach in Laguna to watch the sunset. We spend 20 or so minutes walking up and down the sand, laughing and taking pictures. Just as the sun is setting, Eric gets down on one knee, I cry, and we're officially engaged!
