YES. Your names on your reservation have to match your passport exactly. Double check this before you leave. Passports also have to be valid 6 months past the date of travel. Please check your passports expiration date.
Yes, Medicine that you need or take daily should be in its original bottle with your name and what it contains and put in your PURSE or CARRY ON personal item. DO NOT put it in your checked bag. If you are on oxygen you must have an FAA approved oxygen concentrator. If you have mobility issues and have trouble getting around the airport, please tell Heather the travel consultant so she can make proper arrangements.
If you arrive before the 3pm check in time, no worries. You can easily start your vacation and have full access to the resort. The bell hop will watch over your luggage until your room is ready. I typically advise that you take a swim suit and have access to sunblock easily in your suitcase. This way you can change and use pools and be protected from the sun. The resort will tell you when to come back and check in to get your room key.
YES, but check with your carrier for charges. If you don't want to be charged then you can leave your phone on Airplane mode during your trip and use your phone wifi calling or messaging for contacting others. You have to be connected to wifi. With airplane mode off, you will not use data. Or call your cell provider and find out what the charge, if any would be to make calls. Your resort also has free calling back to the US so you can use the phones in your room to call back home or other USA numbers. NOTE: 1-800 numbers DO NOT work in Mexico so you will need to know a land line number.
Transfers will be provided to and from the airport to your resort in your package price if you have booked with our travel agent. If you have booked on your own then you need to verify that you have transfers included or purchase transfers to and from the resort. Lomas Travel is a great provider of transfers.
Travel insurance is HIGHLY recommended. You will be offered the option to purchase a penalty waiver which allows you to cancel for any reason and get your money back, minus the cost of insurance if you have to cancel for any reason. This has no coverage once you check in for your flight and start to travel. This is only a pre travel waiver. You may opt for the better, All in one travel protection. This is the same as the waiver but covers you when you are traveling as well. This protects you from weather and travel delays, lost baggage, and much more as well as covers you medically when you are out of the country. MOST USA medical policies do not cover you when you are out of the country. Insurance, though an extra expense is recommended.
You do NOT need a visa. You will fill out a tourist card online or on the plane before you go but no visa is needed.
If you have booked with our travel agent, you will likely have the option to pre pay for baggage. This is recommended as Frontier charges more at the time of check in at the airport. Add bags before and save yourself money. If you are booking your own air, please check with the airline you are using for more up to date baggage information.
Mexico is trying to restrict the use of US dollars for purchases at the resorts. You will be asked to leave a credit card number for incidentals at the time of check in. Should you want to purchase something on resort then you can charge it to your room and pay upon check out. For TIPS if a resort staff member treats you well feel free to tip them in US dollars. OFF resort, most vendors will accept Peso or US Dollars.
Gratuity technically is included at the all inclusive. However if a staff member exceeds your expectations feel free to tip them. The average wage per day for workers is about $20- $30 a Day for a bartender or server. A dollar here or there goes a long way in showing your appreciation. $2 are very cool to give as well, you can go to your bank before you leave and request them. A $1 for your server or $1 per person at the buffet, $2 at dinner per person if they wait on you and a few $ a day for your bartenders/ pool staff is appreciated. The maid day and night are always appreciative of gratuities as well. If you want more snacks in your room or more coke vs. diet coke a note and $1 goes a long way to the food and beverage guy. Staff also loves anything like hats, shirts, toys for kids, school supplies etc. Transfers drivers or anyone helping you at the airport are not included in the all inclusive package and you should feel free to tip.
f you want to give back to the community that you are staying then there are many ways to do so. Most hotels will gladly accept school supplies for a local school. If you would like more information on ways to help or ways to donate, then please reach out to our travel consultant Heather.
YES, YES, YES. Mexico has seen a 6% increase in travel in the last year. It ranks as one of the top 10 countries to visit world wide. The safety of our guests and friends is an upmost importance. We would never go anywhere or recommend anywhere we felt you would be in harms way. The area where the resort is located is in a gated community. You have to see a guard and have your name on the list to even enter. That check point is about 1 mile back from the resort area. The resort has staff and security on site, cameras and is well lit in the evening. If you have any questions about this resort or Mexico and want up to date stats and real news, then please contact our travel consultant Heather. She has personally been to this resort 3 times and goes to this area of Mexico at least 3 times a year to tour resorts.
The food and water offered at the hotel is safe. The table water and ice for drinks is filtered and safe. The resort will leave bottled water in the room for your use as well as a few bottles in the bathroom for brushing teeth. Tap water is not filtered yet, if you do happen to drink it you most likely won't have an issue. NOTE **** Pack some IMODIUM and any other medicines like aspirin, aloe etc as it can be expensive on the resort. BE AWARE**** Most stomach issues are due to you eating and drinking more than normal. Most clients are eating 3 meals and multiple snacks each day as well as drinking more than normal. This in general by day 2 will start causing issues. Please remember to stay hydrated. Flights as well as being in the sun dehydrate you. Make sure to fit in water during your day, The resort has it readily available. HYDRATE. If you are prone to stomach issues then you can take a probiotic daily before and during your stay.
