JD and Bahar met in Boston on this app called "league" (we def need to share our story with the app; could get featured). At the time, Bahar was in her second year of MBA, and JD was just changing jobs. Overwhelmed by school work, Bahar told JD that she was moving to Seattle in 9 months, trying to cancel the date, but JD responded "life is an adventure, let's go out". On the first date, JD took Bahar to the Oak Room for a drink, followed by the promise of meatloaf at DeLux (they no longer made the meatloaf, bummer!). When Bahar thinks about those early days of dating JD, she recalls this one time JD rushed to the Silver line to catch Bahar before she flew to SF for recruiting; from those early days, JD showed his dedication and love to Bahar. Not even one month into dating, JD signed up to go on a 10-day trip in Brazil with Bahar and her super energetic business school friends. Quite risky, but definitely worth it! Looking back, Bahar and JD did prove that life is an adventure and they're both so happy they took the risk in return for this beautiful bond between the two of them, and a wonderful future ahead.
Bahar had told JD that you can "never" surprise me! But JD did surprise Bahar. On a beautiful sunny summer day in Seattle (we don't get that many of those!), Bahar and JD were planning to show Mallie (JD's sister) around as that was her first time visiting them in Seattle. They dressed nicely, went for brunch in their favorite spot in Ballard, and went to Discovery Park, one of their favorite parks in Seattle. They stopped at the edge of the beautiful bluff, overlooking Puget Sound and Olympic mountain ranges to take a picture, when JD got down on one knee and said "it's been fun, three years of adventure, will you marry me?"... and the rest is history.
