Our story began in 2022 at Atlanta Medical Center, where two trauma ICU nurses crossed paths in the middle of life’s most intense and meaningful moments. Amid the organized chaos of the ICU we found comfort and understanding in one another. What started as teamwork—helping, supporting, and encouraging each other through long and challenging days—slowly grew into something much more. Kat was drawn to Ryan’s warm smile and kind eyes, a calm and steady presence that made even the most stressful shifts feel lighter. Ryan admired Kat’s compassion, her strength under pressure, and the way she cared for everyone around her. Between after shift drinks, shared stories over queso, and quiet moments of laughter between patient calls, a beautiful friendship took root. That friendship became the foundation of everything that followed. We discovered that outside the hospital walls, our connection only deepened—filled with laughter, mutual respect, and a shared passion for caring for others. We became best friends first, partners soon after, and now, soulmates for life. Looking back, it feels as if the universe placed us in each other’s path at exactly the right time. What began as two nurses working side by side has turned into a love story built on trust, friendship, and a deep appreciation for the simple joy of sharing life together.

On May 4, 2025, at the Renaissance Fair, Ryan completely took my breath away. What I thought would be just a fun day turned into the most unforgettable moment of our lives. Without any hint, I was pulled into a live performance — next thing I knew Ryan was walking on stage, getting down on one knee, proposing! I was in total shock, tears and heart overflowing, and could barely find the words, only able to jump up and down and shake my head “yes.” As if that weren’t enough, all of my closest friends were there without me knowing, including one special friend who had flown in from across the country to make me a beautiful flower crown for the occasion. Every detail — the laughter, the surprise, the love that surrounded us — made it feel like a dream. In that moment, I knew with absolute certainty that we were beginning our forever together.
