Question

What time and location is the charter bus picking up?

Answer

The charter bus will pick guests up at 2:00PM. The bus will be parked around the corner of the Charlotte Marriott City Center on West Trade Street and Church Street on the right side of the one-way street. You will need to cross the street using the crosswalk so that you may enter the bus on the sidewalk side. *Please note that there is only one bus, and it will not be doing second run. Please plan accordingly to be on time for the charter bus pick up.

Will transportation be provided after the wedding?

Answer

Yes! We will have two seperate charter busses for after the wedding, so please be aware of which bus you will want to take. One bus will take guests back to Marriott Charlotte City Center at the same location of pick-up. The other charter bus will be going to our house in Huntersville, for guests who would like to attend the After Party.

Should I rent a car?

Answer

We will be providing charter bus transportation to and from The Lumen House and Marriott Charlotte City Center the day of the wedding. There are plenty of places to eat and things to do within walking distance of our recommended hotels in Uptown Charlotte. If you prefer to rent a car, you are welcome to do so however hotel parking can get expensive.

What time should I get to the wedding venue?

Answer

Please arrive by 3:30PM to enjoy a glass of champagne before the ceremony and to allow time for all guests to be seated by 4PM.

Can I drive to the wedding venue and is there parking?

Answer

Yes! If you prefer to drive separate from the provided charter busses, there is parking available at The Lumen House. However, overnight parking at the venue is not permitted so please plan accordingly.

What is the dress code?

Answer

The Rooftop Welcome Party dress code is Dressy Casual. For women, think midi dresses, jumpsuits, blouses with slacks/dark jeans. For men, think polo's, button-downs, sports coat, quarter-zips, slacks/dark jeans. There will be fire pits and heaters but it does get chilly at night. The Wedding dress code is Black-Tie Optional. For women, think floor-length evening gowns or tailored jumpsuits. For men, think dark colored suit and tie. The venue will be a mix of indoor and outdoor areas with fire pits and heaters.
