Things To Do
Wrigley Field
The Chicago Cubs will be playing the following games around the wedding weekend: Friday 15th & Sunday 17th v Pittsburgh Pirates @ 2:20pm Monday 18th, Tuesday 19th, Wednesday 20th & Thursday 21st v Milwaukee Brewers @ 8:05pm Tickets can be bought through SeatGeek, TickPick, TicketMaster and the MLB website. Once you have bought the tickets, make sure you have the MLB Ballpark app to download them.
Architecture Tour
The attraction that we most recommend is the Architecture Tour. This is a boat tour around the city which teaches you about the history of Chicago. Tickets can be found at wendella.com
Lincoln Park Zoo
Lincoln Park Zoo is free to the public and in downtown Chicago.
Riverwalk
If the weather is good then a walk along the lakefront is both a good way to see the skyline while being close to the water. Navy Pier is also a big tourist draw with good views.
Air and Water Show
The Chicago Air and Water Show will be on August 16th and 17th. This is free to the public with the best viewing at any of the beaches.
Museum Campus
The main/biggest museums that are open to the public are the Field (natural history), the Adler (planetarium), the Shedd (aquarium) and the Art Institute (gallery). There are also many others so don't limit yourself.
Beaches
There are multiple public beaches that are easily accessible. Some include Oak Street Beach, North Avenue Beach (usually more lively), Montrose Beach (quieter), and Ohio Street Beach.
Food and Drink
Chicago is famous for it’s deep dish pizza. The best restaurant will depend on who you ask, but some of our favorites are Lou Malnati’s and Pequod’s. Other Chicago staples include Portillo’s Italian beef and Wiener Circle’s Chicago style hot dogs. For those who are up for the challenge get a shot of Malort. It’s great.
