Wear what you want! Semi-formal/cocktail as a general guide. The venue is next to the beach so wear comfortable shoes if you want to go to the beach.

What weather should I expect?

Answer

Of course, we can’t guarantee anything, but temperatures in Dana Point in July are typically highs of 80 and lows of 60 degrees. It is typically cooler and breezier next to the water.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors and the reception will be a mix of indoors/outdoors (with seating indoors).

Will transportation be provided? Is there easy parking at the venue?

Answer

We are not providing any formal transportation for the events, but there is ample free parking for those who feel comfortable driving, and Lyft is a great option for those who don’t. The Ocean Institute has its own parking lot, and there are adjacent city parking lots.

Will the Ocean Institute exhibits be accessible during the wedding?

Answer

One of the buildings will be open during cocktail hour that includes a touch tank! If you'd like to explore all of the Ocean Institute, it is open Saturdays & Sundays 11am - 3pm.
