I hadn't been feeling that great on that Monday but I figured it was because of the Ozempic shot I had been on, since I took it the night before. That day was super hectic at school so I was done by the time I got home. Dakota had a rough day at the middle school as well so he went by Cook Out and got him his usual food. Dakota was eating a bacon wrap and the smell of the bacon made me want to puke. Then he opened up bbq sauce and I had to walk to our bedroom because the smell of it was putrid. It was so weird because bacon and bbq sauce are two of my favorite foods. I then thought to take a pregnancy test which I had been religiously doing for about a year. Every time I took one I recorded my reaction.....except this time. I thought there was no way I'm pregnant and it's just the shot. So I did the test and normally I wait the allotted time to see if it turns but this time as soon as I looked it was two dark lines. I ran to the living room and told Dakota he needed to turn on his flashlight quick. He looked at me like I was crazy then he realized it was showing two pink lines. Dakota quickly told me to go to the store and get an expensive test because it could be wrong. I went to Dollar General right by the house and of course they were out of every test. I then called my sister to see if she was home. I told her what was going on when I got there. She yelled for Jillian and they brought me one out. I went back home and took the test and it popped straight up. All I could do was cry because I didn't think I was going to be able to have kids. I walked out of the bathroom and Dakota looked at me and said so how long do we have to wait to find out. I flipped the test over and told him we didn't. From that point on our lives changed forever.
