We met in our high school gym class. She was a sophomore, I was a senior. Not much more to it than that. She was very shy, and would only give one or two word answers anytime I tried to have a conversation with her. I was too persistent to give up though. Slowly but surely, the conversations became longer.. And longer.. And longer... Now she talks nonstop. No complaints from me though. I don't mind at all.. Well, most of the time...
We traveled to Knoxville, TN for a Zach Williams concert. The show was great. We entered for a chance to win an autographed mic sculpture. No, we did not win the sculpture. Instead, we receive membership enrollment emails from Altrua HealthShare.. Even after unsubscribing.. And no, he did not propose at the concert. Turns out, he was afraid of losing the ring. He waited until we returned to the place we were staying to propose. That's after we took the sketchiest taxi ride back. I'm talking, an unmarked, beat-up van with no seatbelts, cash-only, sketchy. There was even a shoe organizer attached to the back of the seat, filled with business cards. Some call it creative. I call it weird. Clearly, we survived. You can't say the ride to get to the proposal wasn't an adventure though. And yet again, another "no." No, he did not get down on one knee. We're just not that kind of couple. In all seriousness, I was not expecting for him to propose while on this trip. I mean, I knew he was going to propose eventually — at least I was hoping he would. I just didn't think it was going to happen when it did. Needless to say, we are so excited to finally be sharing this day with you. We can't wait!
