Kody had been on Hinge for less than a week when his profile appeared on Azeen’s screen. She wasn’t new to this - in fact, she’d spent years trying just about every app in the book, from Tinder to Coffee Meets Bagel, without much success. Sitting in the reading room during her nuclear medicine rotation, she swiped through profiles without much hope… until Kody’s popped up. Azeen, shaped by her Middle Eastern Bahá’í background, and Kody, rooted in his Texan American one... two very different upbringings that somehow fit without forcing anything. Before long, it wasn’t just about the two of them. They became part of each other’s families, completely and easily, the kind of belonging that you can’t really plan for… it just happens.
