It all began in February 2019, when they were just 15 and 16. They met through a high school theater production of Chicago, where they were paired as dance partners. From their very first interaction, Gabriel knew Ayziah was the one he was destined to marry. He always says he felt an undeniable and unexplainable connection with Ayziah and made sure to let everyone around him know. Although Ayziah wanted to take things slow, the spark between them was impossible for her to deny. Gabriel was, and still is, everything she remembers from the moment they met: funny, sweet, and beautifully grounded. In the spring of 2019, Gabriel asked Ayziah to prom and it was that very night that he asked her to be his girlfriend. During the first three years of their relationship, Ayziah and Gabriel were inseparable. They cheered each other on at theater and dance shows, danced together at homecomings and proms, and celebrated every milestone, from birthdays to high school graduations. Every memory they made felt like another thread weaving them closer together. It wasn’t until December 2021 that Gabriel enlisted in the Army, creating a physical distance that was both challenging and emotional. Yet, even apart, their bond only grew stronger. Through the miles, the challenges, and the changes, they understood that true love isn’t just about being together, it’s about choosing each other, day after day, no matter what life brings. Whenever they could, they traveled to see each other, turning each reunion into a new adventure. Together, they’ve explored California, Oklahoma, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Delaware, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Tennessee, and now Hawaii for their honeymoon, with many more places still on their list. Traveling together quickly became their favorite thing to do. In December 2023, a trip to Lake Tahoe became the perfect setting for the most magical moment of all. Surrounded by snow and the glow of their car headlights, Gabriel got down on one knee and asked Ayziah to spend forever with him. It was like a scene from a movie, intimate, beautiful, and full of love. Since being together, Gabriel has served overseas twice, and together they have weathered the highs and lows of distance with unwavering devotion. Through every challenge, their love and commitment to eachother has remained constant. Now, they can’t wait to continue this chapter of their story as husband and wife and share it with all of you.
