The vast distance between the United States and Egypt couldn't keep us apart. We, Andrew and Carol, were lucky to have been friends in our early college days before I first left to live in the US. Even while I pursued my studies on a different continent, we kept in touch, our friendship growing stronger with every chat and video call. Despite the miles, fate kept bringing us closer to each other. One day, amidst the chaos of an apartment move (pictures of overflowing U-Hauls included!), I found myself texting Carol out of all my friends and sharing with her how my messy day is going. As always, she brightened up my mood with a few of her hilarious stickers and GIFs that still crack me up! There was a shift ever since. Our conversations became deeper, filled with a comfort that went beyond friendship. She has this contagious laugh and the incredible ability to lighten up the whole room with a witty remark or a perfectly timed movie quote. Plus, she's a total foodie! Carol's recommendations have led me to some of the most delicious food I've ever tasted. (Seriously, Carol, you're a food blogger in disguise!) And her intelligence? Well, that, combined with her foodie expertise, makes her the perfect partner in crime for our culinary adventures. As we talked more and more often, a crazy idea sparked: "What if I take off from work and book a Trip to Egypt right now?" To my surprise, the next thing I knew, I was on a 10-hour flight, ready to meet Carol and ask her out on our first date and meet her amazing family! That spontaneous adventure solidified our connection, proving that even oceans couldn't keep us apart. Our love for travel did not fall short of our love for food. Both of us have overflowing bucket lists filled with dream destinations. Carol, with her talent for finding hidden culinary gems, and me, well, let's just say I might need her help navigating those menus! Months and Months of navigating a long-distance relationship have only strengthened our bond. Now, we're thrilled to finally close the physical gap and embark on this new adventure together as husband and wife. Imagine a future filled with laughter, exploring new and weird foods around the world and maybe even checking some dream destinations off that ever-growing bucket list. , and maybe even some trips back to Egypt – this time, without the countdown !
