We met for the first time at a young adult social event hosted by our church in November 2023. Edward was the cool, suave guy sitting at a corner table, while Stephanie was bouncing from group to group. After eyeing each other all night (and trying to figure out if the other was too shy to make a move), we finally struck up a conversation and exchanged numbers, along with our Instagram handles. The next couple of months were filled with our attempts to subtly “like” each other’s stories and posts. It wasn't until the next social event that we struck up the conversation that will continue for the rest of our lives. Our first date in February 2024 was a casual lunch at MD Anderson in the middle of a busy workday. Nothing fancy—just two people trying to squeeze in a moment to get to know each other between work. But our first "real date" was at the Houston Rodeo, where we really started to see how much fun we could have together. Riding the ferris wheel remains one of our favorite memories to date—who knew a ride up high could make two people feel so close, both literally and figuratively? We melded our families together, sharing meals, holidays, laughs, and many many phone calls. We piggy-backed each other's work trips to visit places like San Diego, Salt Lake City, and Minneapolis. We met friends and coworkers at festivals, concerts, and just about every restaurant in Houston. And we grew in faith and love as our relationship blossomed. In February 2025, Edward pulled off the perfect surprise proposal at our church and ended the evening with a surprise family engagement party. We can’t wait to celebrate this next adventure in marriage and we're both overjoyed to start this new chapter of our love story together!
