We Are Getting Married

We met in middle school when we were 13 years old. Aylisis had just moved to Georgia from Florida. Being that we were both from South Florida, we instantly became friends. We remained friends all throughout high school, and didn't start dating until we were both in college. It was something we both felt that we should give a chance since we got along so well...and well, 6+ years later, here we are :-). We have been dating since July 25, 2013. We first started dating long distance as Aylisis had moved back to Florida after high school. Then as our relationship blossomed, Aylisis decided to move back to Georgia. Within two years, we decided to move in together. Both of us knew right from the start that it was meant to be. We are like Yin and Yang, yet we are alike in so many ways! We had been friends for so long that we already knew a lot about each other, so now it was just a matter of riding this wave of life together. In 2016, we started attending church, and although Anthony was already a believer, Aylisis wasn't. After a few months of attending service, Aylisis decided to get baptized and we decided to be a couple that committed to celibacy so we could please God and let our relationship grow stronger through faith. It has not always been easy, but with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). Fast forward to December 2018, Anthony asked Aylisis' father and step-father for their permission and blessing to marry their daughter. Both gave their blessings wholeheartedly. Anthony decided to propose to Aylisis in front of our friends and some family while visiting Lake Lanier to watch the Christmas lights. We decided to get married on the unique day of February 29th because it is as unique and special as our relationship.
