We met through mutual friends in Fort Lauderdale shortly after embarking on our adventure of becoming yacht crew. I say we met at the crew house, Stu insists that we met at The Brick downtown. We were friends for a couple years before our relationship took the next step. Shortly after we began dating, Stu left on his boat for China as I went to the Caribbean. We had many breakfast/dinner dates via skype to help the time and space pass. A year into the relationship we were blessed to be given the opportunity to work together on the same boat and we have never left each others side since. Finally 5 years into our relationship, Stu popped the question and we are looking forward to celebrating our special day with all of you!
It was the morning of our 5 year anniversary. I finally thought that I would beat Stu at the best gift, our little competitive joke. First I gave Stu his present, a MacBook pro laptop. Stu then gave me each of my gifts, one by one, each with their own little note. My last gift was a poem he wrote for me which outlined our relationship over the past 7 years. He then told me to receive my final gift, I had to decipher the riddle and clues. I am horrible at these things especially at 6 in the morning! With a little help I figured it out. All of the little notes had one word of "Will You Marry Me?" in them. The first letter in each line of the poem spelled out the same. I was shocked and taken completely by surprise and of course, I said yes!
