Kelvin and I met in the summer of 2022 at Disney, of all places! We were both working in Epcot’s France pavilion and were introduced through a group of mutual friends. The very first time I saw him, I didn’t know his name, his story, or even if he was available… but something in me just knew he was going to be someone important in my life. (I know, it sounds cliché, but it was real!) One night, a small group of us were leaving our shift together. If you’ve ever worked at Disney, you know the post-shift struggle: either walk the entire park or wait for the bus to the Cast parking lot. When we reached the lot, we were all saying goodbye when Kelvin suddenly started patting his pockets, panicked he had left his keys all the way back by the clock-in area. I immediately took it as a sign and jumped in so fast: “I’ll go with you!!” So back we went. We ended up walking through the park after hours, talking the whole time. Later, we all hung out in the car, and once everyone else left, Kelvin and I stayed together talking for hours until almost 6 a.m. From that night on, we’ve barely spent a day apart. In the three (almost four!) years since then, we’ve grown, learned, and built so much together. With our foundation in Christ, we’ve learned how to nurture a healthy relationship not only with each other, but with our families and friends as well. On February 7th, 2025, Kelvin asked me to marry him on Pico Rodadero a mountain in his home of Puerto Rico that holds a special place in his heart. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Now the rest is history. On August 8th, 2026, I get to say “I do” to my best friend, my forever. Translation en Espanol: Kelvin y yo nos conocimos en el verano del 2022 ¡en Disney, nada más y nada menos! Los dos trabajábamos en el pabellón de Francia en Epcot y nos presentaron a través de un grupo de amigos en común. La primera vez que lo vi, no sabía su nombre, ni su historia, ni siquiera si estaba disponible… pero algo dentro de mí simplemente sabía que él iba a ser alguien importante en mi vida. (Lo sé, suena cliché, ¡pero fue real!) Una noche, un grupito de nosotros salíamos juntos del turno. Si alguna vez has trabajado en Disney, sabes la lucha después del turno: caminar todo el parque o esperar la guagua para llegar al estacionamiento de Cast. Cuando llegamos al estacionamiento y nos despedíamos, Kelvin empezó a tocarse los bolsillos, todo nervioso, y se dio cuenta de que había dejado las llaves allá atrás, en el área donde marcábamos la entrada y salida. Yo lo tomé como una señal y rápido dije: “¡Yo voy contigo!!” Así que regresamos. Terminamos caminando el parque después de horas, hablando sin parar. Luego todos nos quedamos un rato en el carro, y cuando los demás se fueron, Kelvin y yo nos quedamos hablando por horas, hasta casi las 6 de la mañana. Desde esa noche, casi no hemos pasado un día separados. En estos tres (¡casi cuatro!) años juntos hemos crecido, aprendido y construido tanto. Con nuestra base en Cristo, hemos aprendido a cultivar una relación saludable, no solo entre nosotros, sino también con nuestras familias y amistades. El 7 de febrero del 2025, Kelvin me pidió que me casara con él en Pico Rodadero, una montaña en su tierra, Puerto Rico, que tiene un significado muy especial para él. No pudo ser más perfecto. Y ahora, el resto es historia. El 8 de agosto del 2026, podré decirle “sí, acepto” a mi mejor amigo mi para siempre.
