We met in middle school, and at the time we never thought that we would end up together. Thinking back to how we would pass each other in the halls every day and barely speak to one another, is absolutely mind-blowing. Fast forward to September 2020, I reached out to Ayden on Snapchat in an effort to get a group together to watch a movie at the drive-in! Little did I know that God was at work and Ayden happened to be the only one available. Instead of going to the drive inn, we decided to go to a coffee shop (which is funny, cause Ayden hates coffee)! From that day on, we saw each other in a whole different way. We ended up talking for hours and hours until the coffee shop had closed, and the rest is history! - Madison
Well how we got engaged is kind of a funny/stressful story for me. We’ll start from the beginning… I went looking for rings JUST TO LOOK, then ended up finding “the one,” and walked out the store with it. It was one of those; you see it, you love it, you buy it type of things. After I bought it, Maddie had her radar on high alert. She would ask me everyday if I bought a ring and of course I couldn’t tell her yes, so lying to her was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do! So once I knew the day I wanted to propose, it was just trying to execute it. I told Maddie I wanted us to get pictures done for our anniversary (October 18th) and luckily she agreed because that was how I wanted to propose. It was gonna start off as a regular photo shoot, but little did she know it was gonna end with a ring on her finger. So I contacted our old teacher, Mrs. Cullen, and told her what I wanted to do and it was set. So we took a trip the weekend before our anniversary and came home on the 18th. Getting ready for our pictures, Maddie did not think a proposal was gonna happen. Then, we get to the photoshoot and start taking regular photos and moved to a shot that was perfect to get on one knee. I thanked Maddie for doing this with me and started to tell her that I love her. That’s when I got on one knee and asked her to marry me. And might I say, although we both had tears in our eyes, her reaction was everything I imagined. And that was a day that I will never forget. -Ayden
