SLO County Airport
Avila Beach is in San Luis Obispo County, making this the closest airport. This is a good option for those already within California or catching a layover from a nearby state. Be aware flights might be more expensive. For family and friends flying from the East Coast and want to take a direct flight, there may be less opportunities to catch a flight here.

Santa Barbara Airport
Santa Barbara Airport is the second closest airport to Avila Beach, but will either require a car rental or train ride. Similar to SLO County Airport, flights might be more expensive than flying into LAX or SFO, but it is certainly an option worth checking out. Santa Barbara can also be a great option for staying a couple of extra nights before or after the wedding to check out the area!

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) or San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
Flights to LAX or SFO will likely be the most affordable option, though it will require either a connecting flight to SLO County Airport, Santa Barbara Airport, a car rental or train ride to Avila Beach. We can answer any questions for anyone thinking of flying into either of these airports!

If you're flying in, we suggest renting a car. The area Avila Beach is in has a ton of activities like wineries, hikes, restaurants, beaches, etc. However, there is certainly enough to do in Avila Beach and your entire trip alone could be staying in the beach town without renting a car if you are okay taking a couple ubers to places you might want to visit.

Pacific Surfliner - San Luis Obispo Station
For those in California, the Pacific Surfliner makes a stop in San Luis Obispo. This is a great option for those in Los Angeles who want to take the scenic route. We have taken it several times! The SLO Amtrak station is about a 15 minute drive from Avila Beach.

This hotel is about a 5 minute drive from the beach or about a 30 minute walk/bike ride along the Bob Jones Trail. They offer on-site massages, facials, hot springs, restaurant, wine garden with live music and bike rentals. They also have pet friendly rooms that can accommodate larger groups of guests.

This hotel is about a 5-10 drive from Avila Beach or 30 minute walk/bike ride along the Bob Jones Trail.

Flying Flags Avila Beach
Our favorite camping site in Avila Beach and the closest accommodation to the venue. They offer walk-in and car camping sites, along with cottages and jupes tents. We have stayed several times in the car camping sites. Great bathroom facilities with hot showers included and an on-site convenience store. Pet friendly and fantastic views.

There are plenty of vacation rentals in Avila Beach. We recommend staying between Front Street and Avila Beach Drive to be walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shops.
