We first met at a party during our undergrad years at UC Berkeley and quickly discovered we had mutual friends and plenty in common. We became fast friends, bonding over our shared love of coffee, music, ambitious goals, and delightfully tacky TV shows. At first, Axenya was hesitant about starting a relationship, mindful of her Kashmiri heritage and the importance of honoring her culture. But Jesse embraced Axenya’s heritage wholeheartedly, and her family soon came to love him just as much as she did. Together, we’ve supported each other through numerous milestones. Earning multiple degrees from Berkeley and UNLV (Go Bears and Rebels!), including Jesse’s PhD & Axenya's medical school journey. They learned to face life’s challenges as a team. We’re now learning our cultural languages together and can’t wait to visit India after the wedding and to start our blended family! #AxenyaSaidYesToJess
