University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire
Take a walk around one of Wisconsin’s most beautiful campuses and Emily’s alma mater! The hill provides a great work out or walk across the footbridge (named one of David Letterman’s top 10 coldest places on earth)!
Eau Claire Trails
Eau Claire is known for some amazing biking, hiking, and walking bridges. The downtown area has several with great views of the Chippewa River and bridges!
Carson Park
Carson Park is a great place to kill some time from the Paul Bunyan and train museums to the historic baseball field (where Hank Aaron once played), this is a don’t miss spot. Stop by the Roadhouse, just outside of the park for ice cream or a quick bite!
Leinie Lodge
Leinie’s Lodge and beer garden is a short drive from Eau Claire and a great stop to see where the legendary beer got its start. They may no longer brew there but you can kick back in the lodge or beer garden and see the old facilities and enjoy an ice cold beer!
River Prairie Park and Area
Enjoy views of the river, a great play ground, arcades, and some great eateries! This is a relatively new development and located in the same area as the Staybridge Suites Hotel.
Mall of America®
No explanation needed! an easy hourish drive from Eau Claire and a great activity if you’re flying in or out of MSP.
Twin Cities
The Twin Cities offer a great day trip from Eau Claire with plenty to do! Check out great breweries like Lift Bridge and Surly. There are great eateries and several parks and trails. On the way stop in Stillwater for ice cream and great views.
Children’s Museum of Eau Claire
An excellent children’s museum and a great way to spend a couple of hours if you have kiddos along for the ride.

Old school arcade with duck pin bowling, ski ball, and all of the pinball you could ever need! A great spot for kids and adults with great food and drinks!
