The museum proper won't be open, but this is the one place you all actually have to go.
Hotel where we have a room block available. We'll be running a shuttle between the hotel and our wedding venue.
A really awesome local winery - like going to Napa, but it's a mile from our house. There are actually quite a few wineries - plus two great breweries - within a few blocks of each other here. We aren't putting them all on the map, but you could easily make an afternoon of it.
Awesome little Berkeley brewery.
The site of one of our first dates, and our go-to celebration restaurant. We haven't had a disappointing paella yet, and their sangria and bruselas are incredible.
This park might be less exciting if you don't have a dog with you, but it's one of our favorite spots -- and it's where Greg proposed to Rose. You get beautiful views of the San Francisco skyline, UC Berkeley against the Berkeley Hills and the Golden Gate Bridge. Plus, it's just really gorgeous there. There is a paved path around the perimeter about a mile long, and a mix of paved and dirt paths through the grassy interior. (If you do venture inward, there will be dogs).
Another beautiful waterfront park. This one is a bit more varied than Chavez - some of the walking is a lot easier, but you can also get something approaching a bona fide hike here if you'd like! There are also some very cool art installations made with reclaimed materials. Of note, people are generally not quite as good about social distancing and wearing masks here as they are anywhere else we go. Hopefully that won't be as big of a deal by the time you all are here, but definitely worth mentioning.
If you (like the Axelrods) are a grocery store lover and produce fiend, Berkeley Bowl is a must-visit. Original location shown on the map - Berkeley Bowl West on Heinz Ave is also great, and may be more convenient.
More catnip for the produce fiends.
A gorgeous vista point/trailhead with hiking trails of varying difficulty.
A cute brewery with a nice, urban-outdoor space. It's at the south end of the bustling Temescal neighborhood, where you can find a variety of tasty restaurants, cafes, and a few cute shops.
A Sunday morning farmers market at the north end of the Temescal neighborhood.
