Alana and Alex met in preschool religion class, long before romance crossed their minds. These childhood friends grew apart once they began school in neighboring counties. They had mutual friends throughout high school and saw each other more often their senior year at various friend gatherings and sand volleyball games. Alex offered to drive Alana to sand volleyball on various occasions the summer of 2019. On August 1st, 2019, after playing volleyball and basketball, Alex was driving Alana home and wanted to stop at the fire tower for some star gazing. The two decided that that was as perfect setting as any to have their first kiss and make the relationship official. Fast forward to April 8th, 2023, during a picnic at the same spot they shared their first kiss, Alex asked Alana to marry him.
