What colors to avoid? Please avoid wearing red, ivory, and/or white. Red is traditionally a bridal color for the ceremony and ivory/white are to be avoided on the reception day. Don’t be shy to experiment with colors and combinations! If you’re ultimately very unsure, please reach out to us.
The most comfortable and easiest to wear outfit is a lehenga (includes a top, skirt, and shawl that is sold as a set) or anarkali (1 piece dress / pant and shawl). Outfits can be purchased from reputable online sites or in-person stores. All outfits typically need to be tailored so it will be important to know your measurements (particularly for the top). For events on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will all be vegetarian and no alcohol. It will be primarily indo-caribbean foods. Starting on Sunday meat / poultry / alcohol will be served. The reception will be a variety of choices that caters to everyone. Halal options will be available.
For Mehendi, Maticoor, and Ceremony - we are welcoming kids of all ages. We ask that you notify us if you intend on bringing your little ones as it will be considered a seat/plate regardless of age. For the Reception, we are keeping this to kids ages 10 & older and ask that you let us know in advance if you intend on bringing children under the age of 16. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time so that you can enjoy the evening and celebrate with us to the fullest!
