We met the old-fashioned way...on the dating app Bumble, swiping left and right.
Jake selected Cerebral Brewing in Congress Park, only a couple of blocks from Jordyn's condo. Jordyn was a tad late, so by the time they connected the brewery was nearing closing time. From the minute Jake sat down with beers for the two of them, they hit it off with lots of laughing. A stranger approached them at the table and asked Jordyn whether they were on a date or if they were friends. When she responded that they were indeed on a date, the stranger shared that he believed Jake and Jordyn had something special from seeing us connect at the brewery. At the time, the two laughed it off as the stranger departed and chalked it up to a funny first date experience. Reflecting on it now, it feels like it happened for a reason.
On December 8, 2023, Jake and Jordyn embarked on a walk through City Park in Denver. Jordyn, totally oblivious to what was about to happen, spent several minutes complaining about the amount of geese, but eventually concluded that she could see the two of them getting married there. Jake used this as an opportunity to talk about their future wedding plans, eventually getting down on one knee to ask her to marry him. Through very happy tears, Jordyn said yes, but immediately reflected that she couldn't believe he'd kept the proposal a secret from her. So much of a secret, that her nails weren't painted. Jake, a man who is ready for everything, was prepared with two sets of press-on nails for Jordyn to apply in the moment.
