What is the parking and transportation situation for the Sangeet (Nayak Residence)?

Answer

There are no shuttles provided for the Sangeet which will be hosted at the Nayak's residence in Saratoga. All guests must plan to drive or use rideshare apps like Lyft and Uber. For guests staying at the nearby hotels, the house is around a 5-7 minute Uber ride from the Best Western Inn at Los Gatos and the Inn at Saratoga. For guests planning to Uber, we advise that you schedule your return ride in advance to minimize waiting. If you are driving, please refer to this map for recommendations on convenient street parking. Please note that the only entrance to the property is on Bountiful Acres Way. What is the parking and transportation situation for the Wedding Day (Nestldown)?

Answer

There is limited parking on site, so car pooling is recommended (as long as you agree beforehand on the designated driver)! The roads through the mountains can be winding. We have pre-allocated shuttle spaces for hotel guests staying at the Best Western Inn at Los Gatos and at the Inn at Saratoga. For guests staying at Saratoga Inn, the shuttle buses will arrive at 2:15pm to begin boarding and will depart at 2:30pm sharp. For guests staying at the Best Western, the shuttle buses will arrive at 2:30pm to begin boarding and will depart at 2:45pm sharp. Please be on time as we are keeping to a tight schedule. If you are staying at either of these hotels, we should have reached out to you and confirmed your place on the shuttle. If you are not sure if you have a place on one of the shuttle buses, please reply to this email and we’ll confirm. Please note that Rideshare apps like Lyft and Uber will not be available to or from the wedding venue. If you are not taking the shuttle, you must plan on driving. If you are driving to Nestldown, please aim to arrive and park before 3:30PM as the Baraat will start promptly. If you arrive early, there is a waiting area by the parking lot as guests will only be allowed entrance at 3:30pm. The ceremony will start at 4:00 PM sharp. If you arrive after 3:50PM, you will not be allowed to enter the ceremony area until the wedding procession has completed.

Onsite accessibility

Answer

While not arduous in the least, there will be some walking required to get around the venue. Therefore, we have arranged for onsite transportation in the form of a golf cart for those with mobility issues or injuries.

Footwear?

Answer

The Sangeet will be held outdoors in a private home. The garden is flat and even and is primarily hard ground, but note that there are some areas with grass and turf so please plan your footwear accordingly. The wedding venue is in the redwood forests of the Santa Cruz mountains. It is mostly outdoor terrain with trail paths, grassy areas and occasional steps. We therefore recommend wearing comfortable shoes. Sadly stilettos are not advised.

Rules and Regulations at Nestldown

Answer

1. Smoking (including e-cigarettes/vaping) is only permitted in the designated smoking area, which is near the outdoor restrooms. Smoking is not allowed anywhere else on the property, including the parking lot. 2. No personal alcohol is permitted to be consumed at any point on the property. 3. Guests are required to wear shoes at all times, so please wear comfortable shoes for walking and dancing. 4. Please bring something warm for late evening as it may get chilly.
