Question

What is the attire of the wedding?

Answer

At weddings in Israel, it is common for wedding guests to wear all kinds of attire; some on the more casual side, and some more dressed up. However, we request formal attire of our family and friends. In keeping with tradition, we respectfully request shoulders covered, knee-length dresses and skirts, and no dressy pants for women.

Question

What will the weather be like the week of the wedding?

Answer

It is still far away, and Israel's weather is very unpredictable as it is, but here is an idea of the weather forecast. WEATHER IN JERUSALEM: High- 64 Low- 46, Mostly Sunny WEATHER IN TEL AVIV: High- 75 Low- 51, Mostly Sunny WEATHER AT THE WEDDING: In the 50s or 60s. If it isn't raining, we will be having the chuppah outside, and it will probably be a little chilly, so make sure and bring a sweater!

Question

What is the dress code for Shabbat?

Answer

There is no specific dress code and everyone should wear what they are comfortable with. However, if you plan on going to shul, you should plan on bringing something a little more covered and a little nicer (shoulders covered, skirt/dress for girls.) The same goes for the Kotel- women should try to dress modestly when visiting the Kotel.

Question

How do I get around in Israel?

Answer

Israel has a transportation system of buses both inside the cities and between them as well as trains. In order to use this, you need a Rav Kav (bus card) that can be purchased on any bus and filled at kiosks around the city. Be sure and download the app MOOVIT, which will give you information about bus and train times as well as directions. Alternatively, you can always order a taxi using the app GETT TAXI (the Israeli version of Uber). GOOGLE MAPS is the best app to have for walking directions.
