A Letter to Our Guests

Dear friends and family, Thank you for being part of our lives. Whether you’ve known us for decades, recently come into our world, or are just now getting to know our story, we’re grateful for the role you play in it. As we prepare for our wedding, our hope is to create a celebration that feels warm, meaningful, and true to who we are. We want the day to be thoughtful without being overly formal, joyful without being overwhelming, and full of moments that feel genuine rather than traditional simply for tradition’s sake. Most of all, we hope that whether you’re able to join us in person or are cheering us on from afar, you feel valued and appreciated as part of this exciting new chapter. If you know us, you know our dynamic: one of us talks nonstop and dreams big, and the other brings a steady calm and a quietly funny perspective that grounds everything. Together, we’ve built a life that’s cozy, occasionally chaotic (our three dogs see to that), and deeply full. Sharing this season with you makes it even richer. Thank you for your love, support, and presence in our journey — now and always. We look forward to celebrating this moment in whatever way we get to share it with you. With love, The Future Vidensek's

How We Met

12/12/2021

Like many Zillenial couples, Avery and Sean matched on Hinge (the dating app that's meant to be deleted) and hit it off pretty quickly. Their first date was at Topgolf, where Avery discovered that Sean is secretly fantastic at looking like he’s not trying and then casually winning at everything. They immediately scheduled another date, but the real sparks flew on our third date. 5 days after meeting, they went to a Birmingham Bulls hockey game and then decided to ice skate afterward. Avery, who used to figure skate as a kid, thought this would be her moment to shine and impress Sean. Instead, she hit a rough patch of ice, broke her ankle spectacularly within about ten minutes, and ended up in the ER trying not to cry in front of her very cute date. Cue the moment of truth: Sean not only stayed calm and sweet (his default setting) through the whole ordeal but also met her parents that same night. That winter, he basically became her unofficial ankle-recovery coach, knee scooter technician, and chauffeur. Breaking her ankle was accidental. Falling for Sean was inevitable. What started as a casual Hinge match quickly became a beautiful partnership built on humor, grace under pressure, and a little bit of shared absurdity. And no, they have not been skating since.

Our Life Together so Far

If you’re getting to know us for the first time, here’s a little glimpse into who we are. Avery grew up in Hoover, Alabama, and Sean is from Enterprise, Alabama. We moved in together in September 2022 and quickly discovered that a home shared with three dogs- Lucy, Obi, and Walter- is a home full of noise, joy, and an impressive amount of fur. Our dogs believe they are the main characters in this story, and honestly, they’re not wrong. We’re very different in ways that fit together well. Avery is the creative one- usually reading, crocheting, volunteering with the youth and children’s ministries at First Church, or singing and playing bass on Sundays. Sean is happiest on anything with two wheels: dirt bikes, mountain bikes, and a motorcycle that Avery openly, lovingly dislikes. Fortunately, he also cooks, which balances things out nicely. Together, we love camping, hiking, and slowly working our way through every East Asian restaurant in Birmingham. Whether we’re out exploring or staying in with the dogs piled on top of us, our life feels full, grounded, and very much like home. We’re grateful you’re here, getting to know us, and sharing this chapter with us.
