If there's one thing Kendall appreciates, it's a good plan. Dave, however, is more of a shoot-from-the-hip kind of guy. But he certainly put on a good show for their first date, making two different dinner reservations in Ballard and asking Kendall if she wanted Italian or French food. They started their date at Stoup Brewing before opting for Italian. A year later they returned to try the French option on their one-year anniversary.

In 2020, Dave and Kendall came up with the idea of 'Secret Birthday' while they were on a hike. In short, a 'Secret Birthday' is an all-day surprise birthday celebration happening nowhere near the person's actual birthday, a true surprise. On June 26th, Dave, once again exhibiting an unusually large capacity to plan, surprised Kendall with her 'Secret Birthday' and all of her favorite things: Brunch, shopping, drinks at Stoup Brewing, floating on the lake, and a barbecue with all their friends. Dave proposed to Kendall at Stoup Brewing, where they had their first date, and spent the rest of the day celebrating with their friends and family. Talk about a day to remember!
