How We Met-Avery’s Version

Eight Years in the Making

Our families had lived down the street from each other for years, our brothers were even in the same class in elementary school. However, Tristan and I did not meet until he moved to Burleson our senior year of high school. During the fall of our senior year, I was a cheerleader and had to be at every football game on Friday nights. The day I met Tristan, we had a bi week, which meant there would be no football game that night. Excited that my friends and I had the night off, I planned a bonfire at my house. Keep in mind, this was right before homecoming and I had just been asked to be someone else’s date.. My friends had told me about a new guy that had just moved to our school and asked if they could bring him. I remember sitting in the cheer locker room as my friends told me “he’s so perfect for you” and “you have to meet him.” I told them no haha. I felt bad that I had just agreed to be another guy’s homecoming date and he would also be at the bonfire that night. But, despite my reservations, I eventually gave in. When I met Tristan that night, I immediately knew I would love him. He felt like home, something no one had ever made me feel before. Needless to say, I cancelled my homecoming date (sorry!!). Now eight years later, Tristan and I are becoming husband and wife. I feel so grateful that Tristan and I got to grow into adults together. The 17-year-old versions of ourselves are quite different than the people we are now, but I am proud of every step we have taken together and the couple we have grown into. We cannot wait to celebrate with each one of you! Love, the future Mrs. Hudson.

How We Met-Tristan’s Version

New in Town

At seventeen, I transferred high schools. My first week at the new school, I was invited to a bonfire at Avery’s house through some mutual friends. They were trying to set me up with her and from the first picture they showed me, I was all in. We spent the whole night flirting, but we were in a group setting so we didn’t get to talk a whole lot one on one. I remember sitting on the trampoline with her and the rest of our friends thinking about how well it was going and how beautiful she was. Come to find out, she was going with one of her guy friends to homecoming already, but I decided to ask her anyway. She said yes and from that moment, she has been my other half. We’ve been there for each other through the hardest things life can throw at you, and have also celebrated the many blessings God has gifted us. I am so thankful that everything fell into place that first night we met and led us to our wedding. We are both very excited to share this experience with all of our loved ones.
