It all started with a simple message. One evening, as Avery scrolled through Facebook, she saw the notification pop up: "Tae sent you a message." Her heart did that little flip, the kind you only get when you know something’s about to change. She had seen Tae around before, but this was the first time we really connected—(he must've been too nervous to talk to her in person lol). From that first message, they both knew they had this effortless connection that felt way too natural for something that had just begun. After a few days of chatting back and forth, we decided to meet in person. We agreed on Dave & Buster's, a place that seemed like the perfect mix of fun and casual. I was a little nervous, but when I saw Tae waiting by the bar laughing obnoxiously at instagram reels, all that nervous energy melted away. We spent hours there, jumping from one game to the next, losing track of time, and just enjoying each other’s company. I don't think either of us expected it, but by the end of the night, we were already talking about doing it again. From then on, we were inseparable. Every day felt like an adventure. We spent the rest of that summer doing everything together—laughing at movies, taking spontaneous trips to Columbus and the Bahamas, door-dashing salty and sweet treats at midnight, and just talking about everything and nothing. Our bond grew deeper with every moment, and it was like the whole world had faded away, leaving just us. We weren’t trying to force anything, but it was clear: we were meant to be in each other’s lives. And just like that, from a message on Facebook to hours spent in an arcade, we had fallen for each other. That summer was just the beginning of a story we wouldn’t trade for anything.
