How We Met - Avery Reed first caught my eye in the fall of our freshman year. His first impression stuck around and I actually tried to reach out later that year, but my lame snapchat attempt failed. Thankfully we were reintroduced after winter break and shared a few conversations. With some begging and a special thanks to Trent Martindale, Reed finally got my number and reached out. Not long after, I invited him to a Flatland Calvary concert, he said yes even though he barely knew the songs! We spent the next few weeks getting to know each other better. The more I learned about Reed, the more I thought he was too good to be true! Our first official date was a special pick by Reed. Cafe 88 in Stillwater, a restaurant I'd never been to. The rest was history... Being with Reed felt easy and natural from the beginning. I was truly head over heels! I have never felt so encouraged, loved, or safe, as Reed made me feel. I am constantly in awe of the strength of his character and his heart for the Lord. I was touched by his amazing family and friends, his determination, leadership, and excitement he brought into my life. I am so moved by the gift the Lord has given me in Reed Hays, who is more than I could have ever dreamed of. Praise be to God! Our Engagement - Reed When Avery and I first spent time together, I knew that we had something special. There was a certain ease that came with talking to her right from the beginning. In addition to our immediate chemistry, the main thing that I noticed about Avery was the way that she treated others. She is a true friend to all with a servant's heart like Jesus. I kind of just always knew that she would be my wife one day! When I moved home this summer to go to work at DFS, it hit me that I was now in a position to propose! So literally the first week that I started work, I contacted Scottie P to get her ring started! There was a lot of planning over the next 5-6 weeks, but what I remember the most is not being able to share what I was so excited about to the one person that would be over the moon about it. The day of the proposal went just to plan even with all of the deception in the last few weeks. Avery was so surprised! My favorite part of that day was coming back to all of the people that had gathered at the house to celebrate with us. What a special day! I cannot wait for Avery to officially be my wife! Thank you Lord!
