How did Avery & Melanie meet?

Avery and Melanie met during the summer of 2010 through Avery's cousin and a good friend of Melanie's, Melissa Nash. Melissa's and Melanie's families have been apart of the same PAW organization for many years. Avery and Melanie first met at Church Camp in Philadelphia, MS in the summer of 2010.

When was your first date?

Avery took Melanie to Drew Hunter High School's senior prom in May of 2011. This was their first official date outside of regional church gatherings.

Down through the years...

Answer

Avery always made attempts to keep in touch with Melanie down through the years. He even made a special trip to Delta State just to see Melanie during her years of matriculation there.

When did y'all reconnect?

Answer

Avery and Melanie reconnected during the summer of 2019. Avery was kind enough to open his home in Dallas to Melanie when she did not want to quarantine by herself so far away from home and her family.

Avery asked Melanie "the question" on November 27, 2020 in front of most of her immediate family in Canton, MS.
