Our Story

What started as a "family game day" turned in to our forever...

We met at my (Mackenna) cousins house during a family game day. It started with a card game Avery didn't know how to play, me trying to teach him, and us bantering back and forth. Next thing we know Avery's friend is driving off in his truck and Avery is chasing after him. I had the best opportunity to make my move because I was left with Avery's unlocked phone...so, like any sane person would, I friended myself on his Snapchat (hahaha!). From there we started texting and Avery started making the 6 hour round trip drive to Fort Scott from Manhattan almost every weekend. We eventually got to the point that we hated the long distance and the driving, and after being quarantined together for almost a month we realized being together all the time wasn't so bad...so we moved in together. A lot transpired after that initial move in; we moved back in with my parents, found out I was pregnant with our daughter, bought a house, brought our daughter home, Avery started a new job and we acquired a new dog. We have been through a lot of trials in a short amount of time and neither one of us ever thought about leaving the other. When the dust started to settle and we were both still standing by the others side we knew we were meant to be forever. So, on our daughters 2nd birthday, Avery got down on one knee and asked the BIG QUESTION "Will you marry me?" And I said "Are you sure?"...kidding!! I said "YES!"

For all the days along the way
