We meet while working at the same physical therapy company back in 2021, spending our days helping other people heal, move better, and get back to doing what they love. Somewhere between treatment plans and progress notes, we bonded over long hours, patient stories, and our mutual love for the outdoors, and a good sweet treat (or three). We become fast friends, swapping laughs and snacks between shifts, completely unaware of what was coming next. Then life did its thing, and our paths drift apart. Fast forward a year and a half: Derrick unexpectedly reaches out through Avery’s work email, with honesty and a hope to reconnect. One cautious“yes” later, that catch-up grows into something neither of us anticipates… another eventual “yes” to a much more important question, and now here we are, planning a wedding.
